SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIC TRAININGOrthodontics is a specialised field of dentistry requiring extensive practical and theoretical knowledge. To obtain the Swiss title of “Specialist in Orthodontics”, dentists complete an additional four-year full-time programme at a Swiss university after the regular five-year degree in dentistry.
TREATMENT METHODSWe offer the full spectrum of orthodontic treatment: removable and fixed braces as well as discreet options such as lingual braces fitted behind the teeth and transparent aligners. We explain the advantages and disadvantages of each method and select the approach best suited to you.

Orthodontic treatment to correct misaligned teeth or jaws can be carried out at any age. Certain conditions should, however, be identified early and assessed by a specialist in orthodontics at around the age of seven.
Download information sheetEARLY TREATMENT FOR CHILDRENAn early assessment allows unfavourable bite situations to be corrected when necessary and can prevent further problems such as a lack of space. Perfect alignment of every individual tooth is not the primary objective at this stage.
TREATMENT FOR TEENAGERSOrthodontic treatment is often carried out during the teenage years, when braces can optimally influence both tooth position and jaw growth.
ADULT TREATMENTAs facial and jaw growth is largely complete in adulthood, treatment mainly corrects misaligned teeth within the dental arch and tooth-related bite problems. Adults can be treated with conventional or discreet braces, including transparent aligners and braces fitted behind the teeth.

INITIAL CONSULTATIONFollowing a brief examination, your first consultation provides information about the position of your teeth and jaws, the need for treatment and possible therapies, together with an initial cost estimate and approximate schedule. This appointment helps you decide whether to proceed with orthodontic treatment.
PREPARING THE DIAGNOSTIC RECORDSIf you would like precise information about costs, duration and appliances, detailed records are prepared at the second appointment. These include photographs, dental and jaw models, X-rays and an analysis of function and the jaw joints. We use them to establish a diagnosis and create your individual treatment plan.
DISCUSSING THE TREATMENT PLAN
AND COST ESTIMATEAt the third appointment, we discuss the treatment process, planned appliances, duration and cost estimate. Possible alternatives can also be considered. Once we have your consent, treatment can begin.

Changes to jaw position depend on growth, while teeth are moved into their planned positions in many small steps. Regular check-ups and good patient cooperation are essential for a successful result.

TREATMENT RESULTAfter treatment, retainers should ideally be used to stabilise the position of the teeth and jaws. These may be removable appliances worn at night or permanently bonded wires behind the teeth. Good retention is as important as successful active treatment: it protects the long-term result and preserves an attractive tooth and jaw position for years to come.
